Ask what is alleged
Request the specific conduct said to breach the assessment rules, the rule in force for the assessment and the material relied upon. The OIA says students should be told in writing what they may have done and why the provider thinks the rule was breached.
Review the evidence
Ask for reports, the academic interpretation of any detection output and other relevant material in time to respond. A software flag is something to examine in context; the provider should explain the evidence supporting its allegation. Keep drafts, notes, version history and permitted AI-use guidance if relevant.
Prepare a factual response
Explain how the work was produced, address the actual rule and evidence, and identify any requested adjustment for a meeting or viva. Do not invent a writing history. If a decision has already been made, check the disciplinary appeal route and its deadline.
