Information we receive

When you contact us, book a meeting or use our services, we may receive your name, contact details, correspondence, appointment information and the documents or account of events you choose to provide. A matter may involve information about a child, education, disability, health, discrimination or other sensitive circumstances. Please send only what is needed for an initial enquiry.

We may also receive relevant information from a parent, representative, institution or referrer where it is appropriate to do so. Technical information needed to deliver and protect the website may be processed by the site hosting provider.

Why we use it

We use enquiry information to respond to you, arrange meetings, assess whether and how we can help, check for conflicts, provide agreed services, administer a case, keep records and meet legal obligations. Depending on the activity, the lawful basis may be steps requested before a contract, performance of a contract, a legal obligation, or our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries and managing our practice.

Where sensitive information is needed for a matter, an additional condition under data protection law is required, such as the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims. We do not rely on this page alone as permission to use information for an unrelated purpose.

Who may receive it

Information may be accessed by people working on your enquiry or matter and by service providers that help with communications, scheduling, hosting and case administration. We may share information with another professional or organisation involved in your matter where appropriate and lawful, or where disclosure is required by law. We do not sell case information.

The Contact page offers WhatsApp and the booking page uses Calendly. If you choose those services, their own privacy terms apply to information you provide through them. Please avoid sending confidential documents in a first WhatsApp message. External providers may process information outside the UK; applicable transfer safeguards depend on the provider and its arrangements.

How long we keep it

We keep information only as long as needed for the enquiry or matter and for applicable legal, accounting, insurance, dispute and record keeping requirements. The period depends on whether you become a client, the type of matter and any relevant limitation period. We review records and delete or securely dispose of them when they are no longer needed.

We take reasonable steps to protect information, but no online communication method is completely secure. If you need a more suitable way to send sensitive documents, ask us first.

Your choices and rights

Subject to the circumstances and legal exceptions, you may request access to your personal information, correction, erasure, restriction of use or transfer of information, and you may object to certain processing. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests by emailing us. If we rely on consent for a particular use, you may withdraw it at any time.
